FAQ

Q. What are simple constraints and co-constraint?

A. Simple constraints are all the constraints (not co-constraint) that can be expressed using XML Schema 1.1. The co-occurrence costraints (co-constraints) are rules that define how different parts of a markup document (elements and attributes) must appear together in order that the XML document is valid. The co-constraint are classified as "context dependent" because they represent constraints on the existence and the values of elements/attributes in relation to the presence and the values of other elements/attributes (i.e. the context) in the document.

Q. What generates the CustomUBL?

A. Through CustomUBL you can generate, starting from a base UBL schema document (maindoc), a new UBL chema document that is a customization of the base document. CustomUBL generates a compressed folder, which you can download. This folder mirrors the structure of the UBL standard because it contains subfolders common and maindoc, inside which there are personalized documents. The compressed folder also contains the XML tracking document and its HTML version.

Q. Which schema language is used to express the constraints?

A. XML Schema 1.1.

Q. Who are the users of CustomUBL?

A. The CustomUBL is designed to be used by a wide set of users, but especially by domain experts. Domain expert have good knowledge about concepts related to the domain of their expertise, but have no knowledge about the structure, syntax and features of XML Schema to represent them. CustomUBL users may be individuals, organizations and companies that have the need to create, starting from an UBL schema document (maindoc) that serves as a base an UBL schema document with additional constraints, or more expressive than those already present in the document.

Q. May I can use the CustomUBL offline?

A. No, you must be connected to the network.

Q. What kind of XML Schema document can I upload?

A. Any maindoc UBL schema document.

Q. May I upload multiple documents at once?

A. No, only one UBL schema at a time can be loaded.

Q. Are there any limitations on the size of the documents to load?

A. There were no limits for the UBL documents to the current version (2.0).
